Marie Garber Age 91, of Canton, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012, in Aultman Hospital. She was born in Butler, PA, a daughter of the late Arthur and Audrey (Iman) Davis, and was a Canton resident most of her life. She was a 1937 graduate of McKinley High School, where beside her yearbook picture it said, "Marie can make a typewriter talk - and does." Marie was a longtime employee of Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton where she was an Executive Secretary, and previously had been employed by the E. W. Bliss Co. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Canton Preservation Society and was an avid reader, loved her flower garden, and was an animal lover. Marie was a loving, caring, thoughtful person, and was always willing to help others and put other people before herself. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Garber, on Dec. 27, 1981. Survived by her daughter, Linda Garber, of Enon, OH, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends; also her beloved dog, Duke. Services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Darlene Garber officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 10-11:30 a.m. before the service. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Medical Staff of Aultman Hospital and The Laurels of Massillon, and Drs. Michael Linz, Richard Cooper, and Milan Dopirak, and the Cardiovascular Consultants, for the love and care they gave Marie.
