Marguerite I. "Maggie" Goodyear Age 79, of Canton, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012, in the House of Loreto. She was born in Bethlehem Township, OH, a daughter of the late Constance (Slutz) Davis, and was resident of the Canton area most of her life. Maggie was a 1951 graduate of Timken High School. She was a retired employee of the Canton City Auditor's Office, after over 20 years service, where she was Deputy Auditor. Previously she worked 20 years for Western Union as a telegraph operator. Maggie was a member of the former Sachenheim Club. Preceded in death by two sisters and one brother, Mary Connie Ward, Edna Plympton, and Kenneth Caudill. Survived by her husband, Jerry A. Goodyear, with whom she celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary on Sept. 14, 2011; one sister, Sharon Potter, of Shelby Township, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m.in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey L. Shultz officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
