LUCILLE K. DINE,
Age 94, passed away Sat. evening knowing she is spending eternity in paradise with her Lord and Savior. Preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Dora (Cortney) Mennett; her brother Richard; her sisters, Frances, Marilyn and Doris; and her beloved husband of 48 years, Donald Dine, Sr. Survived by one brother, Paul, a WW II veteran; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Carole, Donald Jr. and Vicky and Joel and Martha; nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson; six nephews; and 13 nieces, all of whom she loved dearly. Lucille was born in Findlay, OH on Aug. 7, 1918, and was raised in Canton. She was a 1936 graduate of McKinley High School, and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and Delta Chapter #539, O.E.S. "Lucy and Don" established Dine Amusement Co. in 1955 which became one of the largest and most respected traveling amusement businesses in Ohio. They were members of the Outdoor Amusement Business Association and the Greater Ohio Showmen Association. In 1978, as a couple they were recognized by their peers as "Showmen of the Year." Lucy was the first woman ever to be included in this prestigious award. They loved and lived their lives entertaining families throughout Ohio. After retiring in 1979 they purchased a winter home in Fort Myers, FL, and resided there until Donald's death in 1988. Lucille returned to her residence in North Canton until 2006 when assisted living became necessary. She spent her remaining years well cared for and in comfort at Bethany Nursing Home. She loved, was loved and will be dearly missed. According to her wishes there will be a private graveside service in Forest Hill Cemetery.
