Loretta JoAnne (Hartong) Shroyer

Age 79, of Mineral City, lost her battle with cancer on April 4, 2017.  She was born July 26, 1937, and grew up on a farm in Dellroy off  Route 542, a daughter of the late Cyrus and Eileen (Rueschman) Hartong, and moved to Mineral City when she married in 1959.  She enjoyed her pets, watching birds, going to band gigs to watch her grandson and nephews play in their band "Final Chapter", reading, watching TV, (especially Walker Texas Ranger) and spending time with her family.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Ray A. Shroyer, Sr., on July 15, 2000, and a daughter, Loretta Jo "Toots" Shroyer, on Sept. 23, 2005.  She is survived by two daughters, Susan Grages and Jeff Frame, and Cindy Derheimer; two sons, George (Becky) Shroyer and Ray A. Shroyer, Jr.; 12 grandchildren, Chris (Sondra) Mosley, John (Holli) Mosley, Susan M. (Zach) Bennett, Mark Mosley, Sean (Rachel) Jones, Skyler Boggan, Jason Maney, Kyle Maney, Debbie (Tim) Issacs, Glen Derheimer, Trish Derheimer, Tessa Derheimer, and many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mae Hasserman, and Pam (Scott) Mitchell; and one brother, Tim (Nancy) Aston.  Services will be held Fri. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Karma Burton officiating.  Interment will be in German Cemetery.  Friends may call Thur. 6-8 p.m.  She will be missed by her many family members, friends and neighbors.  Condolences may be sent to: gordonfuneralhomes.com
