Lois E. Swinford
Age 82, of Sandyville, passed away Tuesday afternoon in Aultman Compassionate Care Center. She was born in Mineral City, a daughter of the late William and Lucy (Fry) Brinkman, and was a life resident of this area. Lois had been a cashier at Crossroads Supermarket, and previously worked at the U. S. Ceramic Tile Co. and TRW. She was a member of Sandyville United Methodist Church. Lois enjoyed bowling for many years, and she and her bowling friends had lunch together every Thursday for years. Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Leland C. "Bill" Swinford, on Oct. 3, 2009, and two sisters and a brother, Dorothy Cable, Betty Barkheimer, and Bill Brinkman. Survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Susie Swinford, of Waynesburg, Joel and Charlotte Swinford, of Carrollton, and William Swinford and Michelle Ivan, of Massillon; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Joel Black, of East Sparta; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Ruthann Bosley officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service on Sat. from 10-11 a.m.
