LOIS R. MERTZ, Age 88, of Canton, passed away Tues. afternoon in Aultman Hospital. Born in Altman, OH, a daughter of the late Perry and Emma Grabill Gruber, she had been a Canton resident all her life. Lois was a 1938 graduate of McKinley High School. She retired in 1985 from the Hoover Co. after over 20 years service where she had worked in the office and also in the main factory and at the Industrial Park where she had been an inspector. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mertz, Sr., on Sept. 16, 1989. Survived by two daughters, Sue Mertz and Patricia Mertz, both of Canton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert and Martha Mertz, Jr., of Uniontown, and Thomas Mertz, of Canton; and two grandchildren, Robert Locke and his wife Megan, and Mike Locke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tues. at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Albright as Celebrant. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
