Lois E. Dazey

Age 94, of East Sparta, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022.  She was born March 26, 1927 in Tridelphia, WV, a daughter of the late Fred and Zella (Dyer) Gogerty, and had been a resident of Waco and East Sparta most of her life.  Lois was a 1945 graduate of Canton Township High School where she played softball and also played after graduation.  Lois played volleyball for many years, and was an avid bowler until she was 89.  She retired in 1989 from the Multi-County Juvenile Attention Center where she was a cook.  She was a long-time active member of the East Sparta United Methodist Church and the community, being known as the pie lady at the homecomings.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Ralph W. Dazey, on July 12, 2021, seven sisters and one brother, Grace Dye, Alice Smith, Mary Whiteleather, Ruth Gogerty, Marilyn Fox, Dorothy Charton, Alma Dazey, and Tom Gogerty.

Lois is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Patty Dazey and James and Donnetta Dazey, five grandchildren, Stephanie Dazey, Marie Marcoaldi, Nicholas (Nicole) Dazey, Ashlee (Cass) Dormer, and Justan (Monica) Dazey, six great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved and they dearly loved her and called her great-momo, Joey Marcoaldi, Marina Warner, Vinnie Marcoaldi, Luca Marcoaldie, Albert and Octavia Dazey, numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Josh Daniels officiating.  Friends may call Friday 12-1 p. m. before the service.  Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lois' memory may be made to East Sparta United Methodist Church, P.O.
