Obituary

Linda A. Wiandt Age 70, of Canton, passed away Monday morning in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in East Canton, a daughter of the late Eugene and Helen (Miller) Foster, was raised in Waynesburg, and had been a Canton area resident since 1963. Linda was a 1960 graduate of Sandy Valley High School, and retired in 2004 from Young Truck Sales, after 25 years' service, where she was business manager. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, and enjoyed playing golf with her husband and several other couples. Linda also enjoyed gardening, camping and traveling. She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Luther, and half- brother, Clayton "Red" Purdy. Linda is survived by her husband, Roger Wiandt, with whom she would have celebrated their 52nd Wedding Anniversary on Sept. 17th; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Mark Hughes, of North Canton, and Jennifer and Jason Owens, of Portland, OR; six grandchildren whom she dearly loved and enjoyed immensely, Brian, Jonathan, David and Sarah Hughes, Ruby and Trey Owens; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Robert Lehman, of Chester, VA; one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Ethel Foster, of Waynesburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Don King as Celebrant. Immediately following Mass, lunch will be served in the Fannon Center at St. Michael's followed by interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery in Waynesburg. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home, and on Friday family and friends will meet at St. Michael's from 10-11 a.m. before the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Linda's memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Northern Ohio, 5700 Brecksville Rd., Third Floor, Independence, OH 44131. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Shruti Trehan and personnel of the Aultman Cancer Center, the staff of Aultman Memorial Six South, and Aultman Hospice, for the love and care they gave to Linda.
