Linda L. Barnes,

Age 79, of Waynesburg, passed away Wed., Jan. 18, 2023.  She was born Aug. 4, 1943, in Canton, a daughter of the late Carl and Ethel (Warrick) Vermillion.  Linda was a 1961 graduate of Canton South High School and the longtime president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the former Sandy Twp. Fire Department.

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Barnes, on Jan. 21, 2000, her brother, Frank Vermillion, and her brothers-in-law, Charlie Hayes and Leonard Adkins.  Survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dan Barnes (Helen Critchley) and Dave Barnes (Kelly Oyer); three grandsons, Michael Barnes (Courtney Johnson), Matthew Barnes (Erin McCune), and William Barnes (Kayla Harris); two sisters, Jo Hayes and Barb Adkins; three brothers, Jim (Peggy) Vermillion, Richard (Rose) Vermillion, and Albert (Christy) Vermillion; her stepmother, Ruby Vermillion; her other son, Roger (Nancy) Austin; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Fri., Jan. 27, at 12 Noon, in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Chaplain Larry Karlen officiating.  Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery.  Friends may call Fri., two hours before the service, from 10 am to 12 noon, in the funeral home.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
