Kenneth C. Sutherin
Age 68, of Canton, passed away Saturday. He was born in Toronto, OH, a son of the late Albert and Lorraine Culp Sutherin, and had been a Canton resident most of his life. Kenneth was a 1960 graduate of Toronto High School. He retired from Consolidated Freight after 15 years service where he was a truck driver. Previously he worked at Superior Meats for 15 years. Kenneth served as a volunteer fireman for Plain Township for many years. He was a member of Teamsters Local #24, V.F.W. Post #7490, and Canton American Legion Post #44. Kenneth had served in the U.S. Navy. Preceded in death by a daughter, Renee Sutherin, a brother and sister, Robert Sutherin and Phyllis Karaffa. Survived by his wife, Doris Reed Sutherin; one daughter, Susan Zombeck, of Navarre; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth H. and Laura Sutherin, of Austintown, OH; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Wanda Maher, of Canton, June Kennedy, of Pompano Beach, FL, and Karen and George McGarry, of Toronto, OH; one brother and sister-in-law Don and Nancy Sutherin, of Hartville; four stepchildren, Deborah and Norman Heller, of Fairborn, OH, Bobbie Burrier and Pamela and Ray Cole, all of Canton, Steve and Debra Reed, of Magnolia; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A private Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Michaels officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kenneth's memory may be made to the Benevolent Fund of any First Merit Bank Branch, c/o Amanda Birch.
