KENNETH J. SMOOT, Age 81, of Carrollton, passed away Thur. afternoon in Aultman Hospital. Born in Red Dragon, WV, a son of the late Callie Sebert and Ruby Gunnoe Smoot, he had previously been a resident of Mineral City since 1956. Kenneth served with the U.S. Army, and retired in 1995 from Don Smoot Masonry in North Canton, previously he had worked at Macomber's Inc., in Canton. Preceded in death by four brothers, Boyd, Clyde, Dave, and Walter Glen Smoot, one sister, Lois Smoot, and two brothers-in-law, Jess Carte and Frank McNutt. Survived by his wife, Virginia "Bunny" Smoot, with whom he would have celebrated their 26th Wedding Anniversary on Dec. 7th; two sisters, Helen Carte, of Mineral City, and Norma McNutt, of Magnolia; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Guy and Karen Smoot, of Canton South, Donald and Carol Smoot, of North Canton, and Shirley and Judy Smoot, of Canton; two sisters-in-law, Helen Smoot, of Magnolia, and Wanda Smoot, of WV; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted Mon. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Clifford Hughes officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
