Kenneth E. Johnston

Age 69, of Mineral City, passed away Wed., April 19, 2017.  He was born March 30, 1948, in Dover, a son of the late James and Mary (Holcomb) Johnston, and was a resident of the Mineral City-Canton area most of his life.  Kenneth was retired from Coen Oil Co., after 25 years as a driver and truck maintenance man.  He was a member of the Somerdale Maranatha Church.  He enjoyed racing R C Control Cars, going to NASCAR races, camping and fishing.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. Johnston, on June 26, 2010, two sisters and one brother, Beattie Van Meter, Bonnie Pittman, and Fred Johnston.  He is survived by one daughter, Mindy (Dave) Morris, and one son, Dean (Jessica) Johnston; one sister, Thelma Arnold; one brother, Leo Johnston; two sisters-in-law, Nedra Johnston, and Sally (Jerry) Updike; a brother-in-law, John "Kenny" (Vickie) Martin; and several nieces and nephews.  Friends may call Sunday 2-4 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia.  According to his wishes there will be no services.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
