Kathy L. Oleksyk
Kathy L. Oleksyk passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, at the Laurels of Massillon, at the age of 69.Born on October 26, 1955, in Framingham, Massachusetts, Kathy was one of four children of David and Dorothy Evans. She graduated from Framingham North High School and spent her early career working in various businesses, but her greatest devotion was to her family.
In 1982, Kathy married, Joseph J. Oleksyk. Together they raised two children, Kristine M. Oleksyk and Jonathan E. Oleksyk, who brought her immense pride and joy. She was also a loving grandmother to Ella, her only granddaughter, and welcomed daughter-in-law Amber into the family with warmth and affection.
Kathy was known for her adventurous spirit and outgoing nature. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending time outdoors, exploring parks, and attending live music and theater performances. Her laughter was infectious, and her presence lit up every room she entered. Even in the face of serious illness, including a long journey with cancer, Kathy remained remarkably resilient. Her grace, courage, and unwavering positivity were a testament to her deep love for life and those around her.
Kathy is survived by Joe Oleksyk; her daughter Kristine Oleksyk; her son Jon Oleksyk and his wife Amber; and her granddaughter Ella. She is also survived by her siblings Jim Evans and wife Terry, Connie Evans and husband Mike Shunney, and Deb Evans and partner Bill Mariano. She also leaves behind six nieces, a nephew, two step-nieces, along with countless friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly. Kathy's legacy lives on in the kindness she showed, the memories she created, and the love she gave so freely.
