Obituary

Karl R. Houze

Age 87, of Mineral City, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, in his home.  He was born in Magnolia, a son of the late Lorin and Minnie Pearl (Scott) Houze, and was a Mineral City resident most of his life.  Karl was retired from LTV (Republic Steel Corp.)  He was a member of East Sparta United Methodist Church and Carr-Bailey American Legion Post #519 in Mineral City.  He served in the U. S. Army during World II.  Preceded in death by his wife, Beverly A. Houze, on July 16, 2005.  Survived by his daughter, Deborah Browning, of Mineral City; four grandchildren, Karla and Mike Schultz, of Clinton, OH, John and Stephanie Browning, of Massillon, Kristian Browning, of Mineral City, and Kendra and Joe Wachtel, of Canton; six great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Pat McBrayer, of Alabama, and Judy and Don Miller, of Cleveland; one brother and sister-in-law, Les and Dodie Houze, of Zoar.  Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Peggy Garner officiating.  Interment in German Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Karl's memory may be made to help with expenses.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
