Karen S. Helman Age 65, of Magnolia, passed away Wed., March 14, 2012, in Mercy Medical Center. She was born and raised in Canton, a daughter of the late Robert and Thelma (Albers) Petree, and had been a resident of the Waynesburg-Magnolia area for many years. Karen was a 1965 graduate of Lincoln High School. She had worked at several area restaurants, including The Lindentree in Mineral City, former Isaly's in Waynesburg, former Toots in Magnolia, and then retired from Cibo's in 1995. She also had worked at the Sandy Valley Rubber Co. Karen was a member of Shepherd of The Valley Lutheran Church, the Auxiliary of Sandy Valley Eagles, which she had served as Madam President and Conductor, and also was a waitress at the Eagles. She was an EMTA for Quad Ambulance. Survived by her husband, John L. Helman, with whom she would have celebrated their 41st Wedding Anniversary on March 19th; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tonja and Jack Oliver, of Mineral City, and Jennifer and Lance North, of Canton; one son and daughter-in-law, T.C. and Sara Helman, of Mineral City; five grandchildren, Jack, Jr and Brittany Oliver, Logan and Hailey North, and Chloe Helman; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Ernie Rohrer, of Waynesburg, and Cheryl and Herb Beadle, of North Canton; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Butch and Geri Petree, Randy and Cindy Petree, all of Canton, Rick and Lois Petree, of Statesville, NC, Ross and Bonnie Petree, of New Franklin, OH, and Jon and Barb Petree, of Fayetteville, NC. Services will be held Sat. at 2 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor John Maroni officiating. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville.
