IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Karen Sue
Ferraro
November 6, 1946 – November 6, 2017
Karen Sue Ferraro
Karen Sue Ferraro, age 70, of Canton, Ohio, loving mother and cherished grandmother passed away peacefully in her home. She was born Nov. 6, 1946, in Canton, Ohio, and was the youngest daughter of the late James and Lucy (Holmes) Ferraro. Karen was a proud graduate of Lincoln High School in 1964 and spent her life in Canton married for twenty years to David Lee Catalano and devoted herself to raising her two children, David and Melissa. Karen had many great interests but her favorites were cooking for her family, making crafts and working at the Kris Kringle craft show at the Canton Civic Center for many years, collecting Annalee Christmas decorations, traveling with friends and family and caring for her many pets from Zermont, the Saint Bernard, to Higgins, the blue and gold macaw and countless Scottish terriers. In her later years, she worked at Aultman Hospital and dearly enjoyed her coworkers and visitors who came to the hospital. Those who knew her will remember her for her kind spirit, humor and golden heart. She adored her family and took great pride in their accomplishments. Karen is survived by her sister Mary Lou Patterson of Canton. Additionally, she is survived by her son David Catalano of Pittsburgh and his wife, Heather and her daughter Melissa Catalano of North Canton. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Madison of North Canton, Elle, Sophie and Eli of Pittsburgh. To her children and grandchildren, she made the best homemade meatballs and sauce in the world and always found the perfect personalized Christmas ornament for each of them every year. Services will be held Mon. at 11 a.m. in the Westbrook Park United Methodist Church with Dr. Joel Adkins officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service, from 10-11 a.m. in the church. The Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
