Karen A. Fedder,
age 84, of Sandyville, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024. She was born on April 16, 1940, to the late Claude "Andy" and Bernice (McCreery) Carnes. A 1958 graduate of Sandy Valley High School, Karen married her high school sweetheart, Donald Fedder, on November 13, 1961. Together, they raised their five children in Sandyville. Karen was known for her exceptional cooking, whether preparing meals for family and friends or working at local restaurants such as Custard's Last Stand, Mimi's, and Ruby's during the 1980s and 1990s. Above all, Karen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles "Chuck" Miller, Robert "Bob" Miller, Cleo "Sonny" Miller, Neil Carnes and Ronald "Ronny" Carnes. She is survived by her husband, Donald Fedder, with whom she celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on November 13; one daughter, Wendy (John) Gasser; four sons, Jed Fedder, Michael (Anne) Fedder, Steve (Joanne) Fedder, and Brian (Marianne) Fedder; two sisters, Gloria Charton and Maureen "Tiny" (Jack) Ott; two brothers, Vance (Sandra) Carnes and Darryl (Bonnie) Carnes; one sister-in-law, Hilda Carnes; grandchildren, Rayne Fedder, Jamie (Madison) Leake, Andrew Fedder, Amanda (Joe) Hoffman, Kaylyn (Aleksy) Russin, Megan (Max) Tisdale, Rachel Gasser, and Claire, Lauren, and Matthew Fedder; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Carter, Hunter, Ava, Dylan, Lillian, Elena, McKenzie, and Vincent; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Sat., Jan. 4, from 10am – 12 noon in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12:30 pm in the Sandyville Town Hall.
