Joyce E. Ring

Age 78, of Alliance, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015, in Community Care Center in Alliance.  She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Leonard and Beulah (McKelley) Short, and has resided in Alliance since 1958.  Joyce was a 1955 graduate of Canton Lincoln High School.  She retired in 2011 from Aultman Hospital, after 26 years service, where she was a switchboard operator, and previously did the same job at Alliance Community Hospital.  Joyce was a member of Northwest Church of Christ.  She enjoyed family vacations, cross stitch, attending her grandchildren's school events, and Friday night dinners with friends.  Survived by her husband, Frank Ring, with whom she celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary on Jan. 1st; two daughters and a son-in-law, Michelle Franks, of Alliance, and Mindy and Ken Kuntze, of Canfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lori Ring, of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Kenny (Brooke) Kuntze, Kyle (Carli) Kuntze, and their daughter, Ashlyn and soon to be born son, Samantha (Sam) Wheeler, Devin Miller, Michael Ring, Maggie Ring, and Mariana Ring; one sister, Anne Pollack, of New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.  A Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Lance Lindenberger, Minister, officiating.  Friends may call Thursday 4-6 p.m. prior to the service.  The family would like to thank the various healthcare providers who cared for Joyce over the previous months.  The compassion and support by the staff at Alliance Hospice and Community Care Center over the past weeks is deeply appreciated.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joyce's memory may be made to Alliance Hospice, 885 South Sawburg Road, Suite 106, Alliance, OH 44601.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
