Obituary

Joseph D. Yannone Age 73, of Canton, passed away suddenly Sat. morning at Aultman Hospital. He was born in Canton, a son of the late Nicholas and Catherine (Mapes) Yannone, and was a life resident. Joe was a 1957 graduate of Lincoln High School, and he retired in 1990 from the Canton City Fire Dept., after 26 years as a Firefighter. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Joe was a loving and caring man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding and traveling. But his greatest passion was playing with his granddaughter. Joe was always in a great mood and he was always willing to help anyone withanything,and he will be missed by his many good friends and cousins. Survived by his daughter, Amy Yannone and Tim Oser, and his beloved granddaughter, Taylor Oser, all of Canal Fulton; his former wife, Linda (Barry) Braucher, of North Canton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Steve Yannone, of Phoenix, AZ, and Michael "Mickey" and Barbara Yannone, of North Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wed. at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Bishop as Celebrant. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home. The Last Alarm Service will be held at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
