Joseph J. Arnold, Sr. Age 75, of Mineral City, passed away Wed. evening in Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Kimbolton, OH, a son of the late George and Grace Burcaw Arnold, and was a Mineral City resident most of his life. Joe retired in 1999 from Kopp Clay of Malvern and Mineral City, after 45 years service, where he had been Supt. of the Mineral City plant. He was a former member of the Dover Baptist Temple. Joe was an avid gardener, loved to go camping, hunt deer, and go mushroom hunting. Preceded in death by a brother, David Arnold. Survived by his wife, Thelma L. Arnold, with whom he celebrated their 39th Wedding Anniversary on March 2nd; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Ida Alvis, of DeBary, FL, Peggy and Tom Carrick, of Dellroy, and Linda and Bob Boswell, of Harrisburg, PA; four sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Linda Arnold, Jr., of Uhrichsville, Leslie and Georgia Arnold, of Magnolia, Randy and Cindy Pittman, of Minerva, and Thomas and Sherri Arnold, of Bolivar; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther and Dave Alberry, of Waynesburg, and Mary and Joseph Harlett, of North Canton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and DeAnn Arnold, of Minerva, and John and Debbie Arnold, of Mineral City; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held Sat. at 7 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Richard Harvey officiating.
