Joseph Andrew Saboe
Age 89, of Waynesburg, ran into the arms of Jesus, Wed., Mar. 1, 2023 at Ruskin, Florida. Joe was born Sept. 16, 1933, in Buckingham, Ohio, a son of the late Alexander and Julia (Hornyak) Saboe. He was a 1951 graduate of Windham High School. Joe proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps, during the Korean Conflict. He was a long-time member of the Fellowship of the Little Country Church, and the Sandy Valley American Legion Post #432, in Waynesburg. Joe was a 28-year employee/manager of Colton Hardware and Home Center. For many years, he owned/operated Saboe Rentals & Storage, and later, J&S Vending. Preceded in death by his first wife, Freda, his daughter, Patricia Blind, his brother and sister-in-law, John and Carol, two sisters, Elizabeth Abeid and husband, Mellad, and Julia Colton and husband, George and his brothers-in-law, Laverne Kissel and Jerry Hazel. Survived by his wife, Joanne (Walter) Saboe, with whom he shared, on October 9, 2022, their 46th wedding anniversary; two daughters, Elaine (Anthony) Salvatori, and Jo Anna (Donavon) Poole; five grandsons, seven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson; and three sisters, Kathryn Kissel, Edna Hazel, and Normagene Rhinehart. Joseph dearly loved his God, family, and country. Joe and Joanne were 21-year part time Florida snowbirds. Joe's favorite music was gospel and old country. He enjoyed playing harmonicas, shuffling, pitching horseshoes, pool exercise, motorcycling, biking, and many miles jogging and walking. A Celebration of Joseph's Life will be held, Thur., July 13 at 11 a.m. in the Little Country Church, 7886 Ravenna Ave. S.E. Waynesburg. Friends may call one hour before the service.
