Joseph H. Geckler

Age 75, of East Sparta, where he lived on the farm where he was born, passed away Wed. Jan. 17, 2018.  He was born Sept. 26, 1942, a son of the late Emerson and Emma (Scarlotte) Geckler.  Joe dearly loved his farm that he farmed his whole life, and he also worked 15 years at Nickles Bakery.  He was strong in faith, was an avid Bible reader, and would readily spread the word.  Joe valued his big circle of friends and they valued him.  Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers, Bessie Dycus, Morris, Johnny, David, Jimmy, and Howard Geckler.  He is survived by his sister, Sarah Mathey, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Mark Gross officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour before the service on Monday from 10-11 a.m.  Condolences may be sent to: gordonfuneralhomes.com
