IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jon R.
Keefer
March 10, 1956 – February 5, 2015
Jon Keefer, 58, passed away February 5th, 2015 with immense courage and grace following an extended illness. Jon is preceded in death by his father, James Kenneth Keefer, stepfather Bill Johnson, and many other grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that will welcome him to the Kingdom of Heaven with open arms. Jon is survived by his wife of 32 years Crystal Keefer of Canton, daughter and son-in law Kendran and Anthony Gattuso, granddaughters Ava and Adelina Gattuso, mother Marilyn Keefer Johnson and Brother and Sister-in-law Jeff and Kathy Keefer as well as many nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, and cousins that he loved dearly. Jon graduated from North Canton High School then attended Akron University. He joined the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Moinester from 1977-1981. During his time with the Navy he completed two Mediterranean tours and as an Operations Specialist invented several systems and methods to improve accuracy that remained in use aboard all ships for decades. It was during his time in the Navy he developed his love for music. Jon is a self-taught piano player and singer that worked professionally for over 35 years. Through his music, he has developed lifelong friendships and filled our hearts by always playing our favorite songs. Though his main passion was music, Jon enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his wife, daughter, two precious granddaughters and friends. Jon was a person that always put his family first and kept traditions alive. Jon should be remembered for his love for his family, selfless and kind spirit, passion for following the rules and as a consummate entertainer. He was the best son, husband, father and Papa that anyone could ask for. "Fill the heavens with your music." A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Mon. at 10 a.m. in Little Flower Catholic Church with Fr. Leo Wehrlin as Celebrant. Friends may call Sun. from 1-3 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jon's memory may be made to: Gabrail Cancer Center (on memo: Jon Keefer Fund), 4875 Higbee Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44718. Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
