John (Fritz) Soehnlen

of East Sparta, was born February 2, 1944 and passed away January 1, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy (Ferrell) Soehnlen, and children John C. Soehnlen (Misti Tidman Soehnlen) and Marty Soehnlen. He was a proud graduate of Sandy Valley High School Class of 1962, U.S. Army service member, and member of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), Local 18. He additionally was a parishioner of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Zoar, Ohio and was often found helping various groups of the parish, especially as a member of the Knights of Columbus. John preferred what he felt were the simple beauties of life; farming, family, faith, and hard work. Per his final wishes, no visitation will be held, only a Memorial Mass at The Church of the Holy Trinity Church of Zoar, Ohio on Mon., Jan 20, 2025 at 6pm.  The Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of arrangements.
