John D. Johnstone

age 96, of Magnolia, passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2016.  He was born in Waynesburg, a son of the late John and Minnie (Rohrer) Johnstone, and had been a Magnolia resident since 1954.  John D. retired June 24, 1982 from The Timken Co., after 40 years service, where he was a machinist.  He was a member of Mineral City Church of The Nazarene.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Miriam L. Johnstone, on Oct. 4, 2005, two brothers and two sisters, Kenneth and Wesley Johnstone, Joan Eckert, and Naomi Blackmer.  He is survived by his daughter, Lois Farnsworth, of Magnolia; two sons, Timothy Johnstone, of Eagle River, AK, and Terry and Sharon Johnstone, of Cardington, OH; six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sybil Majors, of Kidron; one brother, Glenn and Evelyn Johnstone, of East Sparta.  Services will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. in Mineral City Church of The Nazarene with Pastor Karma Burton officiating.  Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville following cremation.  Friends may call Sunday 3-5 p.m. at the church before the service.  Full Military Honors will be held at the church following the service.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
