John L. Helman

Age 79 of Magnolia, Passed away Monday July 30, 2018.  He was born Sept. 23, 1938 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Charles and Eva (Adkins) Helman, and was a life resident of this area.  John was a 1957 graduate of Sandy Valley High School, and retired from the high school after 16 years service as a custodian.  He was a member of Sandy Valley Eagles #3228.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.  Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Karen S. Helman on March 14, 2012, and a sister, Sue Arbogast.  He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Lance) North, T. C. (Sara) Helman, and Tonya (Jack) Oliver; six grandchildren, Logan and Hailey North, Chloe and Emma Helman, and Jack, Jr. and Brittany Oliver; and one sister, Tootie McCloskey.  A Celebration of Life will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville.  Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
