John A. Haugh

Age 68, of Canton, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016, in his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Canton, a son of the late Frank and Anna (Comanita) Haugh, and was a life resident.  John was a 1965 graduate of Perry High School.  He retired in 2002 from American Electric Power, after over 30 years service, where he was a line supervisor.  He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic  Church, and a member of Tam O'Shanter Golf Club where he golfed for many years with his friends.  But most of all he loved his family and especially his grandchildren.  John served in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War in Company A, 5th Battalion, and the 33rd Armor (Tank) Division.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brooke Swope.  He is survived by his wife, Shelly R. (Shaeffer) Haugh; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kim and James Swope, of Warrenton, VA, and Gena Dimattio, of Canton; one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Tennille Haugh, of Copley, OH; five grandchildren, Jackie and Josie Swope, Marissa, Daniella, and John Haugh; two sisters, Mary Ann Hoover, of North Canton and Gloria Uhl, of Marco Island, FL; and one brother, Frank Haugh, of Dawson, TX.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wed, July 6, 2016, at 10 a.m. in St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with Fr.
