John D. Fultz

Age 38, of North Canton, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015, in his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born Feb. 7, 1977 in Canton, a son of Kenneth Fultz and Susan (Tsilidas) Kim Slawson, all of North Canton, and was a life resident of this area.  John was a 1995 graduate of Hoover High School, and a 1999 graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, and a Masters Degree in Education from Walsh University in 2008.  He was an employee of Canton City Schools, having taught American History 4 years at Timken High School and then taught American History 5 years at Timken Early College.  John was a boys/girls tennis coach for 6 years at Timken High School.  He originated the Film Club and participated in the Interact Club and the Social Club.  John also had taught College Prep 4 years at Walsh University and also taught auto body at Hoover High School.  Surviving besides his parents is a sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Brian Chetnik and their sons, Joe, Matt and Brett, of Valley City, OH; a brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Pamela Fultz and their daughters, Megan and Emily, of Newton Falls, OH; a cousin/brother, Eacho Stepanovich, of North Canton; and his beloved cat, Woody.  Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with his fellow history teacher, Bryan Shephard speaking.  Interment in East Liberty Cemetery.  Friends may call Thursday 5-8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be made to the JohnFultz Scholarship Fund for the Timken High School Early College Program at Canton City Schools, 305 McKinley Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44702, or to Walsh University for a Memorial Scholarship in John's memory.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
