Obituary

JOHN F. BARTOS,

Age 91, of Dover, passed away Thur., May 5, 2016.  Born in Canton, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Bartos, he had been a resident of Mineral City most of his life.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired from Empire Reeves Co. in Dover.  John was a member of Sandy Valley Eagles Aerie #3228 in Sandyville, and St. Paul's Community Church and Carr-Bailey American Legion Post #519 in Mineral City.  Preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou Bartos in 2003, his son, Dr. David Bartos, four sisters, Mary Vargo, Irene Lorius, Helen Hoagland, and Shirley Cagle, and his brother, Joseph Bartos. Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Darrell Milhoan; grandchildren, Tom (Pam) Crilley, Terri (Jimmie) Cool, Tod (Kendra) Crilley, Ryan Milhoan, Cody (Frank) Ortiz, Molly (James) Carnes, and Warren Bartos; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; his sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Bill Howard; and his special friend and companion, Ruth Linder.  A Memorial Service will be held Fri. at 1 p.m. in St. Paul's Community Church with Pastor Mark Gross officiating.  The Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia is in charge of arrangements.  The family will receive friends in the church hall after the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be made to St. Paul's Community Church, 8733 1st St., Mineral City, OH  44656, or Carr-Bailey American Legion Post #519, PO Box 416, Mineral City, OH  44656.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
