Obituary

John F. Baker Age 77, of Canton, passed away Saturday evening, Dec. 1, 2012, in Hanover House. He was born in Somerset, PA, a son of the late Melvin and Jennie (Stahl) Baker, and had been a Canton resident most of His life. John was a 1953 graduate of Timken High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Malone College, and previously received an Engineering Degree from Tri-State College in Angola, IN. He retired in February of 1993 from The Timken Co., after 43 years service, where he was an Engineer. He was a member of the North Canton Eagles and McKinley Eagles. He was an avid outdoorsman, who spent time hunting and fishing with his son, and they also went to Canada for many years. Preceded in death by his wives, Paula L. Baker, on Aug. 5, 1992, and Gloria F. Baker, on May 18, 2008. He and Gloria went on 20 cruises, where they won many awards for dancing, Also preceded in death by a brother and sister, Harold Baker and Leora Fasnacht. Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Rick Finley, of South Bend, IN; his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sharon Baker, of Canton; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Tim Keeton, of Kentucky; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Tiffany Kenaley and Dennis Lundberg, and their children Rhythm and Kallisti, Joshua Baker and his fiancee, Katie McCarthy, Lauren Baker and Mary Grace Baker. Friends and family may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home. A private committal service for the family will be held on Wed. at 11 a.m. in Forest Hill Cemetery.
