Joanne C. Slutz,

Age 87, of Bolivar, passed away peacefully Wed., Apr. 5, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving children.  She was born Oct. 27, 1935, in Magnolia, a daughter of the late Cletus "Pete" and Ruth (Kennedy) Weisburn.  Joanne was a 1953 graduate of Magnolia High School and retired from Sandy Valley High School in Dec. 1998, after 28 years as the Administrative Secretary.  She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Zoar and the Mineral City Senior Center.

Preceded in death by her infant son, David Slutz, her sister, Kay Chiavari, and her former husband, Jan Slutz.  Survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Terrie (Larry) Gibler, Tracey (Ted) Mizer, Tammy (Earl) Ecenbarger, and Trudi (Ken) Young; one son and daughter-in-law, Jan (Cheryl) Slutz II, one sister and brother-in-law, Marcia (Richard) Stertzbach; and ten grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wed. at 10 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Zoar with Fr. Tomas Cardajaly-Vasto as Celebrant.  Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery.  Friends may call Tues. from 6-8 pm in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joanne's name may be made to: Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1835 Dover Zoar Rd NE, Bolivar, OH 44612, or Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.  Condolences may be left at: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com.
