JoAnne Nelson

Age 81, of Mineral City, passed away Wed. Jan. 3, 2018.  She was born June 7, 1936 in Barnhill, OH, a daughter of the late Virgil and Mary (Smitley) Ohler, and had been a resident of the Mineral City area most of her life.  JoAnne was a 1954 graduate of Midvale High School and a former employee of Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar.  She was a member of Mineral City Church of The Nazarene.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Nelson, on Dec. 19, 2010, a grandson, Jason Ohler, two brothers and four sisters.  JoAnne is survived by one daughter, Kathy Helwig, four sons, Richard Ohler, Guy (Valerie) Nelson, Mark (Shari) Nelson, and Christopher Nelson; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Zimmerman and Marilyn Knepper.  A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Mineral City Church of The Nazarene with Pastor Karma Burton officiating.  Interment will be in German Cemetery.  Friends may call Tuesday 10-11 a.m. at the church before the service.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
