Joan (Shenkle) McKee Age 74, of Canton, passed away Monday morning in St. Luke Lutheran Home. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Budd and Bernice (Lupher) Shenkle, resided in Canton since 1969, previously an East Sparta resident many years. Joan was a 1956 graduate of Sandy Valley High School and a 1959 graduate of White Cross School of Nursing in Columbus. She had worked in the office of Dr. Corbin L. Crouch in East Sparta, and also as a Rehabilitation Consultant for several companies for 17 years. Joan was a member of the Beth Tikkun Fellowship in Akron, and had volunteered for the American Red Cross for several years. Survived by her husband, Dale McKee, with whom she would have celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary on Aug. 24th; one daughter, Suzanne Semonovich and one son, Joel McKee, both of North Canton; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Devan, Braden, and Jordan Semonovich, Aaron McKee, and Amanda (Israel) Norcom and their children, Gavin and Bentley Marie. Services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Congregational Leader Grant Luton officiating.
