Joan C. Hibbitts

Age 83, of East Sparta, passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2018.  She was born in Dellroy, OH, a daughter of the late Jessie and Martha (Clark) Wood, and had been an East Sparta resident since 1967.  Joan retired Jan. 28, 2001 from the U. S. Ceramic Tile Co. after 47 years service, where she was a sorter and packer.  She was a member of East Sparta United Methodist Church, collected milk glass and bells, and enjoyed plants and flowers.  Besides her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James H. Hibbitts, on August 10, 2002, and a brother, Kenneth Wood.  She is survived by two daughters, Linda (James) Selogy, and Debbie (Mark) Blind; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren, Cody (Candace) Blind, and their children, Maddie and Dakota, Casey (Jade) Smith, and their son, Ben; also one brother, Gary (Janice) Wood.  Services will be held Wed. at 1 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Peggy Garner officiating.  Interment will be in East Sparta Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour before the service on Wed. from 12-1 p.m.  Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
