Jerry A. Goodyear Age 80, of Canton, passed away Wed. morning in Sycamore Run Nursing Home in Millersburg. He was born in Canton, a son of the late Albert and Eva (Mieser) Goodyear, and had been a Canton resident most of his life. Jerry retired in 1989 from Diebold Inc., after over 30 years service, where he was a forklift operator. He was a member of the former Sachenheim Club. Jerry served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Marguerite I. "Maggie" Goodyear, on March 4, 2012, two brothers and two sisters, James and Robert Goodyear, Loretta Hunt, and Normajean Mehalik. Survived by a sister-in-law, Sharon Potter, of Shelby Township, MI; several nieces and nephews, including two who were his and Maggie's caregivers, Carmen (Michael) Mayle and Jerry Ward, all of Canton; five sisters, Lonnie (John) Blasko, Mary (Carl) Dechiara, Betty Martin-Culet, Phyllis Eckley, and Linda Goodyear; one brother, Donald (Edie) Goodyear. Services will be held Sat. at 12 Noon in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey L. Shultz officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
