Jean E. Owens

Age 85, of Magnolia, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in Hennis Care Center in Bolivar surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Magnolia, a daughter of the late Patrick and Agnes (Thome) Crowe, and was a life resident.  Jean was a 1947 graduate of Magnolia High School, and was a former employee of the Bank of Magnolia where she was a teller.  She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Waynesburg.  Preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Austin, Tom and Jim Crowe, and Joanne Hoffman, and a great-grandson, Dante Cole Harris.  Survived by her husband, Robert L. Owens, with whom she celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary on Feb. 12th; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Hoce, and Karen and Ricci Camarata, of Canton, Jackie and Kevin Evans, of Malvern, and Janie Owens, of Ft. Myers, FL; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Joseph and Darlie Owens, Denny Owens, and Jon Owens, all of Magnolia, Bob and Michelle Owens, of Canton, and Michael and Nicki Owens, of Zoar; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Crowe, of Hagerstown, MD, and Patrick B. Crowe, of Dover; and her best friend, Jane Lauritzen.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sat. at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Zamary as Celebrant.  Interment in Magnolia Cemetery.  Friends may call Friday 5-8 p.m. at the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean's memory may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 400 W.
