Jean Ann Herritt
Age 74, of Canton, passed away Monday, Feb.15, 2016. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Paul and Velma (Laird) Quinn, and was a life resident. Jean was a 1959 graduate of McKinley High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Kent State University. She retired in 1995 from Canton City Schools where she was an elementary educator, having taught 3rd and 4th grades at Burns, Gibbs, Worley and Woodland Elementary Schools. Jean was a member of Canton City Lutheran Parish. Her Professional Memberships included the National Education Association, the Ohio Education Association, the East Central Ohio Education Association, and the Canton Professional Education Association, which she served as President and Treasurer. Jean is survived by her husband, David R. Herritt, with whom she celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary on March 10, 2015; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Catherine Quinn, one niece, Jeanne Marie (Kevin) Caldwell, and their children, Kevin and Julie, two nephews, Patrick (Crista) Quinn, and their children, Andrew, Jonathan, and Sarah, and Michael (Anne) Quinn, and their children, David and Katherine. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in First Lutheran Church with Pastor Darla Ann Kratzer officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home and Friday 10-11 a.m. at the church before the service.
