E. Jean Hatfield
Age 82, of Waynesburg, passed away Thursday morning in Aultman Hospital. She was born in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Gotschall Sickafoose, and was a life resident. Jean was a 1946 graduate of Waynesburg High School, where she was a cheerleader for the Mohawks. She retired from Waynesburg Carriage in 2002 where she was a bookkeeper. Jean was a member of Waynesburg Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles B. Hatfield, on Aug. 14, 2009, and a brother, Donald G. Sickafoose. Survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kay Hatfield and Susie and Jeff Swinford, all of Waynesburg, and Kristi and Warren Schneider, of Sandyville; three grandchildren, Morgan Graham and her husband, Bob, Damon and Alivia Schneider; a sister-in-law, Amelia "Millie" Sickafoose, of Waynesburg; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Dr. Joel Soza officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean's memory may be made to Waynesburg Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
