JEAN E. GUEST,
Age 88, of Canton, passed away Thur. afternoon in the Laurels of Canton. Born the daughter of the late Linnie and Mary Golder Sweany, she had lived her entire life in the house where she was born. Jean was a 1940 graduate of McKinley High School, retired in 1991 from the Akro Corp. after 27 years service where she was an accounting clerk and volunteered for the Day at the Races Benefit for the Akron Art Museum. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the Auxiliary of the South Akron Orioles and the Sassy Red Hatters. Preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Dale B. Guest, on Dec. 14, 1986, and her brother, William Sweany. Survived by one daughter, Barbara Guest, of Canton and her special friend, James Smith, of Cuyahoga Falls; one granddaughter, Roberta Wells and her husband Dale, and their sons, Jaymes, Clayton, and Collin, of Beach City; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Cindy and Steve Bacon and their daughters, Taylor and Abbey, of North Canton. Services will be conducted Mon. at 12 Noon in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Kay Hall officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.
