Janet E. Faigley Age 68, of East Sparta, died suddenly Sunday evening. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Warren and Violet (Rainsburg) Russell, and was a life resident of this area. Janet was a 1962 graduate of Sandy Valley High School. After graduation she went to Ohio State for two years and then began raising her family. When the children were out of school she went back to college at Stark State and graduated in 1988 with honors with a Physical Therapists Associate Degree. Being the oldest girl in the class, many of the younger girls started calling her "Mom". She worked for Fernandez, Renner & Scaia Physical Therapists until her grandchildren started coming and then retired. Janet was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the American Physical Therapy Association. Preceded in death by her son, Michael, on May 2, 2013. Survived by her husband, Charles W. Faigley, with whom she celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary on Sept. 12, 2012; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Melanie Faigley, of Canonsburg, PA; her daughter-in-law, Carrie Faigley, of East Sparta; five grandchildren, Macie, Reid, Samuel, Matthew, and Zachary Faigley; one sister, Dr. Jane Russell, of Jessup, MD; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Nicki Russell, and Daniel and Carol Russell, all of East Sparta; also several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of her life will be held Thursday evening at 7 p.m. in Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Ruthann Bosley officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the church.
