JAMES "DOCTOR BOOM" NEMETZ,
Age 86, of New Philadelphia, passed away Fri. afternoon in Union Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh, he had lived in the Atwood Lake area since the age of one, New Philadelphia since July of 2008 and previously in Gnadenhutten seven years. James served with the U.S. Army during WWII and managed basketball and fast pitch softball. He owned and operated Dr. Boom Lightning Rod Co. for 52 years, retiring in Oct. 2008. James was a member of Believers Assembly in Beach City which he served offices in the church. He was blessed with two spiritual gifts. One was singing. The other, the gift of "Helps." James served God 58 years, traveled to Mexico with missionaries four times and played the accordion and sang in many churches. Preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Pucciarelli, and his brother, Henry Pucciarelli. Survived by one daughter, Anna Eick, of Mineral City; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one Aunt, Nell Tressel, of Mineral City, and her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Tressel and her son Jeremy; one brother and sister-in-law, Victor and Rose Pucciarelli, of Pittsburgh; and cousins Jack, Suzanne, Dean, Sandra, and Larry. Services will be held Tues. at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home with Anthony McKinney and Pastor W. Gene Cooper officiating. Interment in New Cumberland Cemetery.
