Obituary

James E. Burlison Age 92, of Canton, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, in Aultman Hospital. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, TN, a son of the late Joseph and Birdie (DeVault) Burlison, and resided in the Canton area most of his adult life. Jim was a 1938 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. He retired in 1980 from Canton Drop Forge, after 13 years service, where he was Traffic Manager. Jim was a member of Canton Lodge #60, F. & A.M., and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton. He served with the U. S. Navy during World War II. Preceded in death by his wife, Marybel K. Burlison, on Dec. 17, 2002, a son, John Burlison, and two brothers, John and Eugene Burlison. Survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandy and Dan Buss, of Dover, Virginia and David Flack, of Massillon, and Sherri Burlison, of Las Vegas, NV; two sons, James Burlison, of Kansas City and James Shafer, of Massillon; one sister, JoAnn Harber, of Marblehead, OH; numerous nieces and nephews including Kathy (Dave) Brown, of Avon Lake, OH, Connie Dobrow, of Berea, OH, and Steve (Rebecca) Harbor, of Port Clinton, OH; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Wed. at 1 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor Steven M. Smith officiating. Interment in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover.
