Jack W. Sickafoose

Age 83, of Magnolia, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024.  He was born May 8, 1941 in Canton, a son of the late Robert and Pauline (Schneider) Sickafoose, and was a life resident of Magnolia.   Jack was a 1959 graduate of Sandy Valley High School, attended the University of Mount Union, and graduated from Malone University in 1986.  He completed an MBA Degree at Ashland University in 1990.  Jack retired from The Timken Company in 1994, and continued a career with Stark County and Canton City Schools, retiring in 2006.  He also retired after 44 years of service with the Sandy Valley Local Schools and Stark County Educational Service Center Boards of Education in 2017.  Jack is a member of Magnolia Methodist Church, it's Administrative Board, and sang 65+ years in the Chancel Choir; charter member and President of the Sandy Valley Jaycees; member and twice President of Magnolia Lions Club; Life Member of the Magnolia Historical Society; member of Caldwell Lodge #330 F. & A.M. and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton; and was honored as Magnolia Outstanding Citizen during Canal Days in 2017.  He honorably served in the U. S. Army and the Ohio National Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Lori Jo and Cindy Marie, his brother, Ned I. Sickafoose, and his sister and brother-in-law, Fay Strong and Gerald Strong.  Jack is survived by his wife, Helen L. (Baim) Sickafoose, with whom he would have celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary on August 24th; two daughters and four grandchildren, Amy (David) Walker, and their daughters, Kelly (Joe) Misamore, and Erin, Jill (Scott) Petroff, and their sons, Jack (Anna) Petroff and Mitch (Keira) Petroff; his sister, June (Jerry) Pullins; and sister-in-law, Cindy Sickafoose.

Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Magnolia Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Garrabrant officiating.  Friends may call at the church before the service from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.  Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Military Honors.
