Jack S. Hively

Age 69, of Perry Township, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, in Aultman Compassionate Care Center.  He was born in Pleasant City, Guernsey Co., OH, a son of the late Virgil and Velma (King) Hively, and was a Canton resident most of his life.  Jack was a 1962 graduate of Timken Vocational High School, and was retired from the Timken Co., after 35 years service, where he was a hot bed operator.  He was a member of McKinley Eagles #2370, and Golden Lodge #1123 United Steelworkers of America, AFL-CIO.  Jack coached baseball in the Whipple Heights Baseball Association, was a Perry High School athletic booster, and an avid OSU fan.  Preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Hively.  Survived by the mother of his children and caregiver, Linda Hively; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Mark Copeland, of Perry Township; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brett and Beth Hively, of Cumming, GA, and Brad and Nikki Hively, of Perry Township; six grandchildren, Halle and Logan Copeland, Matthew and Megan Hively, and Alex and Samantha Hively;  one sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Mike Craney, of Canton; one niece, Melissa (Duane) Leininger, of Perry Township; and his beloved dog, Zak.  Services will be held Monday, at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Edward M.
