JACK W. CARLING
Age 85, of Massillon, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tues. morning in Rose Lane Health Center. Born in Sandyville, a son of the late Charles and Nellie Ringler Carling, he was a life resident in the area. Jack was a 1942 graduate of East Sparta High School and a member of Magnolia Baptist Temple. He served with the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired in 1986 from Farm & Fleet in Dover where he was a salesman. Preceded in death by his brother, Gene Carling and his granddaughter, Christine Recknor. Survived by his wife, Martha Carling, with whom he celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary on Sept. 20th; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Norman Recknor, of Stanardsville, VA, and Anna Lee and Wayne Slepecky, of Medina, OH; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry and Claudette Carling, of Massillon, and Gary Carling; and nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. According to his wishes, following cremation there will be no services.
