Hiram J. Bazzoli, M.D.

Age 96, of Canton, passed away Wed., June 15, 2016, in The House of Loreto.  He was born in Meadowlands, PA, a son of the late Victor and Adeline Bazzoli, and had been a Canton resident since 1942.  Dr. Bazzoli was a 1937 graduate of Dover St. Joseph High School, a graduate of Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, and received his Medical Degree from the St. Louis School of Medicine in 1943. He served his Internship and Residency at Mercy and Aultman Hospitals in Canton.  He practiced General Surgery in Canton for 60 years until his retirement.  He was a member of Christ the Servant Parish.  Dr. Bazzoli's  Medical affiliations included the American Medical Association, the Ohio State Medical Association, and the Stark County Medical Association.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Angeline J. Bazzoli, on Feb. 8, 2013, a daughter, Barbara Ann Bazzoli, a brother, Edward Bazzoli, and a sister, Olga Bazzoli.  He is survived by three sons who also were physicians, Dr. Victor and Ruth Bazzoli, of Canton, Dr. James and Ellen Bazzoli, of Marion, OH, and Dr. Allan Bazzoli, of Gambier, OH; two daughters, Diane and Dr. Robert Seymour, of Charlotte, NC, and Anne Bazzoli-Kugler, of Uniontown; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dover with Fr.
