HILDA R. GIANNELLI, Age 87, of Waynesburg, passed away Wed. evening in Carroll Healthcare Center. Born in Canton, a daughter of the late Grover and Mary Roberts Smith, she had been a Waynesburg resident for 66 years. Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Placido "Tux" Giannelli, on May 4, 2007; an infant son, Stanley Giannelli, grandson James Giannelli, Jr., great-grandson James Giannelli III, son-in-law Bill Brick, sisters Nellie Robinson, Elizabeth Negro, Mary Pallaye, Gloria Lashley Pallaye, and brothers William, Deward, Lawrence and Paul Smith. Survived by one daughter, Gail Brick, of Louisville; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Linda Giannelli, Sr.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynn and Richard Sleighton, of North Canton, and Pat and Carl Groves, of Minerva; a very special niece and nephew, Denise and John Groves; and a special thank you to Vanya Maurer, a dear friend of Hilda's. Services will be conducted Mon. at 11 a.m. in Finefrock-Gordon Funeral home in Magnolia with Pastor Steven M. Smith officiating. Interment in Sandy Valley Cemetery.
