Herbert G. Barth

Age 88, of Canton, passed away Sat., March 4,2023.  He was born Feb. 22, 1935 in Canton, a son of the late Alfred and Nellie (Roberts) Barth, and was a life resident.  Herb was a 1953 graduate of Lehman High School and a 1961 graduate of Ohio Northern University with a Degree in Civil Engineering.  He was the retired owner/operator of Barth Construction Company.  Herb was a 60 year member of William McKinley Lodge #431, F. & A.M., Tadmor Temple, and Nazir Grotto.  He proudly served in the U. S. Coast Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Charles Barth, sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and Louis Kolbl, and brother, Edward Barth.  Herb is survived by his wife, Charlene "Bunny" Barth, with whom he celebrated their 69th Wedding Anniversary on Dec. 5th last year; two children, Janet Barth and Edward A. (Suzanne) Barth; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Jessica (Erik) Dravenstott, and their children, Ethan and Makayla, Edward G. (Nicole) Barth, and their sons, Jack and Benjamin, Charles A. (Wanda) Barth, and their children, Michael, Lauren, and Alexander, and Georgeanna Barth.

Private services will be held Wed. at 11 a.m. in Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan George of Church of The Lakes officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.  Contributions in Herb's memory may be made to the donor's favorite charity.  Condolences may be made to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
