Helen L. Marx

Age 95 of Canton, passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2016.  She was born in Flushing, NY, a daughter of the late August and Ella (Haviland) Schmidt, and had resided in Canton since 1984, previously New York.  Helen was a 1939 graduate of Bayside, NY High School and also went on to business school.  She had been the Executive Secretary for the President of the U. S. Tobacco Company.  She was a member of Faith Bible Church where she sang in the choir.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Otto J. Marx, on Jan. 26, 1996.  Helen is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Hal Smith, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul and Barbara Marx, and Philip Marx, all of Canton;  six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, Heather (Todd) Clark, Dan (Andrea) Smith, Janell (Heath) Sizick, Shannon (John) Fultz, Derek (Catherine) Marx, and Rebecca (Aaron) Stanley; one sister, Allison Simpson, of Florida.  Private services will be held Monday in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev.
