Helen M. Jones
Age 93, of Mineral City, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022. She was born April 15, 1929 in Canton, a daughter of the late George and Nelda (Randolph) Davidson, and was a life resident of Mineral City. Helen was a 1947 graduate of Mineral City High School and was employed following high school at Eton Manufacturing in Massillon. She married the love of her life, William R. Jones, on May 12, 1949. She was a homemaker who invested her time in her family. Helen treasured her children and grandchildren, and especially loved her role as a grandma, to which all the kids called her Gram.
She loved to craft and make special gifts for her family and friends. She served and volunteered on the Mineral City Fire Department Auxiliary as well as on many other community organizations. Helen was a long-time member of Mineral City Church of The Nazarene and had served in many areas of the church.
She greatly loved her family, friends, and her family's home. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William R. Jones, on August 5, 2008, a son, William A. Jones, on May 23, 2021, and a sister, Carol Noble.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Larry Halverstadt, son Tom Jones, daughter-in-law, Katie Jones, Karma and Ron Burton, who were caring like family, eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren, also survived by a sister Janet Summers and a brother, Robert (Carol) Davidson.
Services will be held Thursday at 12 Noon in Mineral City Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jeff Karns officiating. Friends may call Thursday 11 a.m.-12 Noon before the service. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Sandyville. Condolences may be sent to: www.gordonfuneralhomes.com
